I reorganise things when I can't stand the clutter anymore, but what I should be doing is getting rid of stuff. My GF made a plaintive cry this weekend of 'please stop moving things around' and I realised that I'm being unfair to her if I expect her to know where everything goes even after I've moved it all around. So now I am focussing on decluttering rather than reorganising....and leaving post-it notes for her if I do move things!

First, I just wanted to thank you, Vanessa – and your husband – for your sacrifice for our country!!

I think this sounds like a great way to use what must be a very hard time for something productive!

I like to organize when my hubby is gone on long courses. I don't know why but it's better than drowning my sorrows in a tub of ice cream.

Since he's going to Afghanistan in April, I have a six month plan to organize, get rid of things we don't use anymore and find some much needed space!

Vanessa’s last blog post...Remembering Our Fallen Heroes: Master Cpl. Charles-Philippe Michaud

Moving every few months??? What a hassle! We've moved quite a bit since we got married (5 times in 6 years, although now we plan to stay put for good), and it's a lot of work!!!

That said, I do think it can be good for decluttering/organizing because I always end up purging really well when we move rather than hauling it all with me!

I'm gonna do that today!" Of course, to no avail:( I need that book, though. Idiot's guide to organizing... that's got my name written all over it!

I reorganize when I cannot stand the disorganization anymore! I just reorganized my laundry and office this week, because they were collecting a lot of things that did not have a place. I always take everything out of the area and start over. I end up throwing a lot out and finding new places for other things.

Another thing is Meds.. what do other people use to keep this organized?

Like you, I re-organize when I notice the current system is no longer working or getting overloaded. The toys and my kitchen junk drawer get re-organized the most. They both get lots of use!

I'm always thinking about organizing, but it often takes me awhile to get around to it. I think I organize toys the most, and kid clothes, and then random other things. Right now I'm thinking about how best to organize my catch-all closet. The two biggest hold-ups for me are money and time. I don't have much of either, so my organizing often involves re-purposing things that are no longer necessary. It would be awesome! to have lots of extra cash for cool organizational items. My last big project was converting an underused changing table into a toy shelf.
