Simple Menu Plans: Week of 3/30

When it comes to menu planning, I prefer to just make a list of meal ideas for the week (and I always include breakfast and lunch as well) and then grocery shop according to the list without specific days in mind. I appreciate the flexibility that this system gives me, but I’ll admit it has its flaws as well!

Here is our meal plan for this week:

::with apples and raisins
::with bananas and honey
with apple filling (I used the egg-free recipe only because I was out of eggs!)
Cereal (x2)
Yogurt parfaits

Tastykake donuts
& fruit (Saturday morning tradition)

Peanut butter, banana & honey sandwiches
Noodles with parmesan cheese and veggies or fruit (x2)
Ham & cheese roll-ups with salad
Chicken noodle soup (from my mom!)

Bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin with oven-baked fries and zucchini/squash
Chicken parmesan with angel hair pasta and salad
Omelets with bacon
Easy taco casserole

Pizza and salad

Hi. My name is Mandi and I’m an organizing junkie. I’m also a wife, and Momma to four little girls (5, 3.5, 2 and a new baby!). I've worked at home since our oldest was a baby, and like a lot of other moms, my life is a constant balancing act of caring for my family and my home, meeting my obligations and finding time for hobbies in there somewhere. Oh, yeah, in the interest of full disclosure, I’m somewhat of a kitchen dunce and I only like to pretend that I’m crafty. Read more here!

  1. My menu planning is a lot like yours. I have a list of meals without specific days planned. The problem I have is with lunches and breakfasts. We have the same things for breakfast all the time: bagels, pancakes, cereal, toast…boring. And lunches are just usually leftovers for me and easy stuff for my 4 year old. I need to start planning breakfast and lunches better. Thanks for the ideas!

  3. This will be a great week Mandi! I have had past … years (!) of being a good planner. Not so now. I feel like we have such a limited selection b/c of my special eating that I don’t even try.

    I hope to learn something this week and actually DO something about it! (blush)
